Gluten free cooking can be tricky and finicky. Sometimes it can be hard to know where to begin, which makes starting a gluten free diet particularly difficult. This is why I am sharing a roundup of all my favourite easy gluten free recipes.
Easy gluten free recipes
These recipes are all gluten free, of course. However, we also have plenty of egg free, dairy free, vegan, xanthan gum free, nut free and low FODMAP options. I aim to cater to as many different diets as I can, because I know how hard it can be to find recipes when you have more than one requirement.
Which brings me to an important point. What counts as an easy recipe? For me, easy recipes encompass a few things. Firstly, they use easy to find ingredients that can be found at most supermarkets. I live in Australia, so all of these recipes use ingredients you should be able to find at our supermarkets.
Secondly, they have shorter ingredient lists. An easy recipe shouldn’t have 1000 different ingredients involved – it should be, for lack of a better word, easy.
Finally, easy recipes don’t require extensive skill, experience or know how. I have chosen these recipes because I think they are the most approachable for a beginner. Gluten free cooking does require a bit of intuition, but these recipes should be attainable.

Gluten free breakfasts
Gluten free porridge
One thing I missed when I went gluten free was a big bowl of porridge. Oats aren’t considered gluten free in Australia, so they were off the menu. Not anymore with this delicious and easy gluten free porridge recipe that uses rice flakes.
Buckwheat flour cinnamon raisin bread
This simple cinnamon raisin bread is a recipe in my second buckwheat flour e-book. It uses all buckwheat flour and yogurt for a quick and easy bread that tastes delicious.
Gluten free granola
Because oats aren’t considered gluten free in Australia, a good granola can be hard to come by. This recipe uses rice flakes instead of oats for a completely gluten free (and vegan) end result.
Gluten free protein pancakes without protein powder
This single serve recipe couldn’t be easier to make! It is gluten free and high protein without any protein powder involved. Easy and delicious.
Gluten free snacks
Apparently I think snacks are mostly muffins?
Gluten free vegan blueberry muffins
This muffin recipe is my absolute favourite. It uses a single flour (rice flour) and is gluten free, vegan (and thus egg free) and xanthan gum free. All you have to is mix and bake – no equipment required.
Gluten free banana carrot muffins
Fruit and veg in a cake form? Sign me up. These wholesome muffins use buckwheat flour and rice flour as the base, along with yoghurt, carrot and banana for binding. An easy snack to have on hand.
Gluten free granola bars
These granola bars are chewy and delicious. More than that, though, they are easy to make. Mix them up, press them in and set them in the fridge. An easy and delicious gluten free snack.
Gluten free buckwheat muffins
There’s definitely a buckwheat theme here and I’m not mad about it. These muffins use 100% buckwheat flour – no starches, other gluten free flours or nut meal required. An easy recipe that you can flavour as you wish.
Easy gluten free bread recipes
Easy gluten free breads can be hard to come by. These are the recipes on my site with the simplest methods and ingredient lists.
Gluten free buckwheat bread
This buckwheat bread is probably the easiest bread recipe on my site. Buckwheat flour is forgiving and it creates a lovely flexible crumb for your bread. I make this recipe weekly.
100% buckwheat flour bread
If you want a starch free buckwheat bread recipe, look no further. This loaf uses 100% buckwheat flour and yoghurt to create a soft and elastic crumb. It is a recipe in my first buckwheat flour e-book.
Gluten free teff bread
Enough of the buckwheat, you say! Fair enough. This teff bread recipe is similar to the buckwheat bread in it’s simplicity, so it’s a great simple loaf that is delicious toasted.
Gluten free seeded buckwheat bread
Just kidding, more buckwheat. This loaf combines the simplicity of my buckwheat bread recipe with the delicious crunch of seeds. It is high fibre and makes delicious toast.
Easy gluten free wrap recipes
A wrap can be an incredibly helpful tool in a gluten free meal plan. Use it as a breakfast tortilla, a regular tortilla, a lunch wrap or even a lazy pizza base.
Gluten free buckwheat wraps
I make this easy recipe over and over again. In fact, I’m about to finish off this post and make a TikTok style egg wrap for dinner. The wraps use buckwheat flour, psyllium husk powder and yoghurt to create a simple and flexible end result.
Gluten free teff wraps
If you’re not a buckwheat fan, how about teff?
Gluten free quinoa wraps
And if you’re not a buckwheat fan or a teff fan, how about quinoa?!
Grain free cassava wraps
And if… Just kidding. These grain free cassava wraps are a little different than the wraps above. They use cassava flour and tapioca for a flexible wrap that doesn’t need yoghurt.
Gluten free dumplings and buns
I would describe this section as ‘easy versions of complex recipes’. While crimping a dumpling is not necessarily a beginner activity, these recipes aim to create gluten free versions of dumplings and buns that are as easy as they can be.
Gluten free vegan dumpling wrappers
These gluten free, vegan and xanthan gum free dumpling wrappers are so much easier than you’d think, thanks to the magic of the scald.
Gluten free Varenyky
This easy Varenyky recipe is based on my dumpling recipe but with a few tweaks to account for a starchy potato filling.
Gluten free pierogi
Finally, pierogi. These delicious little morsels use the easiest fold possible (half moon) so even beginners can get involved.
Gluten free bao buns or steamed buns
This recipe only needs two flours (white rice flour and tapioca flour) and no xanthan gum at all. A deceptively simple recipe that makes gorgeously light and fluffy bao buns or steamed buns.
Easy gluten free pasta dishes
These recipes all use store bought gluten free pasta to make weeknight dinners as easy as possible.
Easy low FODMAP pasta
This low FODMAP pasta combines delicious flavours to create a full bodied, weeknight appropriate low FODMAP pasta sauce. I used Farabella gluten free mafaldine to make this dish.
Low FODMAP pumpkin goats cheese pasta
A deliciously comforting Autumn pasta that uses gluten free rigatoni.
High protein pesto pasta
There’s nothing I love more than healthy meals disguised as decadent ones. This high protein pasta sauce combines beans, cottage cheese, kale and basil to create a delicious protein packed pesto sauce. Serve it with gluten free pasta and roasted chickpeas for a delicious and nutritious dinner.
Low FODMAP chilli oil noodles
This is my favourite easy recipe, hands down. It tastes so incredibly good that you would never know it took 10 minutes to make. Most store bought gluten free noodle brands leave a bit to be desired, so I use store bought gluten free spaghetti instead.
Easy gluten free dinners
Delicious easy weeknight dinners that are full of flavour and lacking in gluten.
Low FODMAP Pad Thai
I could eat Pad Thai every day for the rest of my life. This recipe is a low FODMAP, vegetarian or vegan and gluten free take on the classic.
Gluten free yeasted pizza bases
Pizza night can be difficult when there’s no gluten allowed. Not anymore with this easy recipe for gluten free pizza bases. My low FODMAP pizza sauce recipe is equally simple, too.
Low FODMAP fish parcels
Is there an easier way to cook fish than in a parcel? Computer says no. This recipe packs in the flavour and makes a very easy gluten free dinner with some rice and Asian greens.
Low FODMAP tofu bolognese
Bolognese is an easy weeknight classic and so too is this low FODMAP vegan bolognese. It uses tofu instead of beef yet still retains that delicious classic flavour.
Easy gluten free desserts
The grand finale! I chose these recipes because they are delicious classics that everyone loves, made as easy as possible.
Easy gluten free chocolate cake (dairy free option and vegan option)
My favourite cake recipe ever, this gluten free chocolate cake contains only a single flour and no xanthan gum. Mix and bake, it’s that simple! You can find my gluten free dairy free chocolate cake recipe here and my gluten free vegan chocolate cake recipe here.
Gluten free vegan chocolate mug cake
There is no dessert that is easier to whip up than a mug cake. This gluten free chocolate mug is accidentally vegan and tastes out of this world.
Gluten free sticky date pudding (egg free, vegan option)
The best easy winter dessert that is always a crowd pleaser. This recipe is egg free, nut and xanthan gum free and has a vegan option as well.
Gluten free banana cake
A delicious and super simple banana cake recipe that uses a single flour and is naturally egg free. If you use plant based milk and the lemon icing option, the cake is also vegan.
