A guide to creating crispy oven baked tofu from www.georgeats.com
Salt and pepper tofu with green herb salad and easy ginger satay
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

As you may or may not be aware, I’ve made it my life’s mission (for the month) to discover the secret behind crispy tofu. Unsatisfied with my baked tofu experiences at home, yet in awe of the shatteringly crunchy salt and pepper tofu at restaurants, I knew I was missing something. While I haven’t quite…

Vegan cheesy miso baked potatoes with fennel cucumber salsa from www.georgeats.com
Vegan cheesy baked potatoes with fennel, lime, mint and cucumber salsa
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

We have well and truly entered the season for baked potatoes here in Australia, and although I’m generally the number one proponent of excessive cheese and sour cream on a baked potato, today is not that day. My latest experiment in the quest for great (or even just acceptable) gut health has been to cut…

So I’ve been making toasties on Instagram recently like I myself discovered the toastie (I can confirm, I did not). What I did discover, though, is that toasties are a seasonally appropriate way to consume your favourite summer salads whilst in the depth of winter. There’s something about winter that requires more carbs, and why not…

Thai carrot and coconut soup (vegan, gluten free, FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

It’s officially soup weather here in Melbourne. Personally, the IDEA of soup generally seems like a good one.  That is, however, until reality hits and I’m either raiding the fridge an hour later. That, or unwittingly consuming enough onion and garlic to keep me in bed for the week. Neither are ideal. This Thai style…

Preserved lemon and herb pasta with haloumi, honey butter roasted carrots and fennel
FODMAP friendly, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegetarian

So you might be thinking that this pasta looks suspiciously like the roasted carrot, halloumi, fennel and maple toasted pepita salad I posted last week. I’d like to be the first to confirm those suspicions. As I said on Instagram (I don’t want my lines to go to waste) I’m an expert in stretching out…

Honey and butter roasted carrot salad with halloumi and herb sauce

Honey and butter roasted vegetables. A trick (can we call it a trick?) I’ve discovered when entertaining guests and realising, last minute, that I’m short on things for them to eat. Honey, butter and sea salt are literally all it takes to transform an otherwise side dish, into the main event. I can’t tell you…

Have you ever heard of the term ‘recipe not recipe?’ Good, because you’re about to get a recipe not recipe for salad. I posted this salad on Instagram a few days ago and was overwhelmed by requests to post the recipe online. As such, much to your dismay, I’m sure, there is no lengthy spiel…

FODMAP Friendly oven baked chips with herb gremolata style sauce and coconut yoghurt
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Snacks, Vegan, Vegetarian

In what is seemingly a past life, I would, upon stumbling out of the pub on a Saturday night, walk past a local chip shop called Lord of the Fries. Not just any chip shop, they specialise in a variety of chip boxes. Said chip boxes all smothered generously in a variety of vegan sauces.…

One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished I’d taken the time to iron something. This is the gluten free lemon drizzle cake from my website - it uses only one flour (not a blend) no xanthan gum, and is being posted in lieu of what I attempted to shoot today which did not look half this nice, irrespective of ironing. Recipe is linked!
The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punn The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punnet more blueberries than my own recipe calls for. On the topic of these vegan, gluten free blueberry muffins, I’ve learned that you can: use regular dairy yoghurt and butter if you don’t need them to be vegan, use panela/rapadura sugar if that’s your thing, chop and change (use vegan butter but regular yoghurt and vice versa) or use oil instead of butter. Recipe is linked!

My number one personal trick for making buttercrea My number one personal trick for making buttercream look good on a cake is to buy a lot of berries and move on with your life. This is a gluten free chocolate cake recipe uses only one flour, no blends, no xanthan gum, no nuts, and can easily be made dairy free. If dairy is your thing though, I highly recommend you make the chocolate brown butter buttercream to go with it. Recipe is linked!

Radicchio salad with honey cinnamon walnuts, blue cheese, roasted pumpkin and a punchy vinaigrette. Recipe is linked in my bio.
