I find breakfast to be the trickiest meal of the day to cater to with my dietary requirements. I need a repertoire of delicious breakfast options on hand for when I inevitably get bored of my last breakfast fixation. In case you’re in the same boat as I am, I thought I would round up all of my gluten free breakfast recipes into one easy post.
Gluten free breakfast recipes
These recipes are all low FODMAP and gluten free. Although the low FODMAP diet is not necessarily a gluten free diet, a lot of gluten containing grains are moderate to high in FODMAPs.
These recipes are all also vegetarian (because I am vegetarian) or vegan. There are plenty of nut free, egg free, xanthan gum free and corn free options as well. My hope is that there is something for everyone!

Gluten free buckwheat bread
As always, we’re starting off with this delicious and easy gluten free buckwheat bread recipe. This bread is vegan, xanthan gum free, nut free and makes absolutely perfect toast. This is my go-to gluten free breakfast.
Gluten free buckwheat wraps
And if you’re more of a wrap person? Look no further than these gluten free buckwheat wraps. They use 100% buckwheat flour and yoghurt for binding (which can be dairy free yoghurt). This means the wraps are easily vegan (as they are already egg free).
Gluten free granola
Sometimes there is nothing better than a giant bowl of granola. This recipe uses rice flakes instead of oats to keep the granola oat free. Oats aren’t considered gluten free in Australia, so rice flakes make a delicious and crunchy stand in. I have developed a low FODMAP gluten free version as well.
Gluten free granola bars
Granola, but portable! These chewy bars are easy to make and even easier to inhale. I have developed a low FODMAP gluten free recipe, too.
Low FODMAP chia pudding
I never managed to get my ideal consistency chia pudding until I started adding yoghurt. This recipe thickens up quickly and beautifully for a gorgeous end result.
Gluten free vegan sausages
My pride and joy, these gluten free vegan sausages are grain free, nut free and low FODMAP. They test offensively good, have a good amount of protein and I could easily eat them all for breakfast. I have tested making them into sausage patties, too.
Gluten free croissants
This is a recipe from my second cookbook, Intolerance Friendly Kitchen. They undoubtedly take a bit of work, but these gluten free croissants are well worth it.
Gluten free teff bread
If you’re a toast gal like me, you need some variety in your gluten free bread recipes. Fear not, because this teff bread is coming to the rescue. It uses majority teff flour (with a small amount of tapioca flour) for a deliciously lofty and nutty loaf.

Fluffy, light, delicious and exceptionally filling, there’s not much these gluten free ricotta pancakes can’t do.
Gluten free quinoa bread
One more for the wholegrain loaves! This quinoa bread recipe uses quinoa flour, buckwheat flour and tapioca flour. It is a little shorter than the buckwheat and teff varieties, but tastes delicious and packs a nutritional punch.
