A gluten free diet can be tricky at the best of times, so there is no need for terrible gluten free bread to make it worse. Today I want to round up my favourite easy gluten free bread recipes so you never have to eat crumbly gluten free bread again.
Easy gluten free bread recipes
These recipes are all easy to make and require a relatively simple list of ingredients. Every recipe is egg free and xanthan gum free, and many recipes are vegan or can easily be made vegan.
The list includes everything from breads to wraps and pizza bases. I hope there is something in here for anyone looking to start their journey making gluten free breads at home.

Buckwheat bread
My forever favourite loaf, this simple gluten free buckwheat bread is the perfect entry level recipe. It uses buckwheat flour and tapioca flour, which are easy to purchase at the supermarket. The loaf is easy to mix, easy to proof and very easy to eat.
Teff bread
This teff bread is related to the aforementioned buckwheat bread recipe. It uses a simple mix of two flours and can be proofing in the bowl within 10 minutes. It requires two proofs, but essentially all of this is hands off time.
Seeded buckwheat bread
A deliciously high fibre seeded buckwheat loaf that is xanthan gum free, egg free and vegan. This is my favourite bread for toast in the mornings at the moment.
High protein buckwheat bread
And if you’re after an easy recipe that packs in the protein? Look no further than this gluten free high protein bread. It uses buckwheat flour and cottage cheese to amp the protein content right up. I also have a vegan version.
Gluten free buckwheat wraps
Can you tell I’m a buckwheat fan? These wraps are made with buckwheat flour, psyllium husk powder and yoghurt for ultra flexible, ultra delicious wraps. They can easily be made vegan with vegan yoghurt. I like to keep a stash of them in my freezer for when the mood strikes.
Grain free vegan bread
We can’t forget our grain free friends! This loaf is one of my triumphs because of how much it tastes like white bread. I am obsessed and I hope you will be too! It uses cassava flour, tapioca flour and potato starch for a grain free, nut free and xanthan gum free loaf.
Gluten free sourdough pizza bases
Gluten free sourdough recipes require a bit of expertise, so I thought I would share this gluten free sourdough pizza base recipe. It is very easy to make and hard to mess up, so it’s the perfect way to ease into gluten free sourdough.
Gluten free yeasted pizza bases
If you don’t have a gluten free sourdough starter, fear not! This recipe uses instant yeast instead. Like the sourdough pizza bases, it is a very easy recipe to make and very difficult to mess up.
Gluten free focaccia
I love making gluten free focaccia because it doesn’t need to hold its own shape. Focaccia is a low fuss yeasted bread that doesn’t require the hydration and proofing to be perfect to achieve the best result. This is a great easy gluten free bread recipe that I turn to often.
Gluten free buckwheat cinnamon raisin toast
Is there anything better than toasted cinnamon raisin bread? I think not! This is a recipe from my second buckwheat flour e-book. It uses buckwheat flour and yoghurt to form a soft and pliable loaf. Bonus: this makes it higher in protein and high in fibre, too.

Gluten free sourdough bread boule
Ok, so sourdough isn’t necessarily the easiest bread. HOWEVER, I figured I would include this recipe because it is the easiest of my gluten free sourdough breads. The loaf uses more wholegrain compared to starch, which makes proofing a little more predictable. Don’t let the lengthy post fool you; gluten free sourdough is actually quite easy to make once you get your gluten free sourdough starter going.
