Vegan cheesy miso baked potatoes with fennel cucumber salsa from www.georgeats.com
Vegan cheesy baked potatoes with fennel, lime, mint and cucumber salsa
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

We have well and truly entered the season for baked potatoes here in Australia, and although I’m generally the number one proponent of excessive cheese and sour cream on a baked potato, today is not that day. My latest experiment in the quest for great (or even just acceptable) gut health has been to cut…

Nutella mini meringues (gluten free and FODMAP friendly)
Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Posts, Recipes, Snacks

I’m currently having a moment with Nutella, as I have done many times before. Just a few days ago I had the idea to incorporate some Nutella into the chocolate chip cookies from my cookbook, and today my living room has been overcome with mini Nutella meringues. How did I get here, I wonder as…

Thai carrot and coconut soup (vegan, gluten free, FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

It’s officially soup weather here in Melbourne. Personally, the IDEA of soup generally seems like a good one.  That is, however, until reality hits and I’m either raiding the fridge an hour later. That, or unwittingly consuming enough onion and garlic to keep me in bed for the week. Neither are ideal. This Thai style…

Honey and butter roasted carrot pasta with halloumi and lemon herb sauce from www.georgeats.com
Preserved lemon and herb pasta with haloumi, honey butter roasted carrots and fennel
FODMAP friendly, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegetarian

So you might be thinking that this pasta looks suspiciously like the roasted carrot, halloumi, fennel and maple toasted pepita salad I posted last week. I’d like to be the first to confirm those suspicions. As I said on Instagram (I don’t want my lines to go to waste) I’m an expert in stretching out…

Brown butter, sea salt and quinoa flour brownie cookies
Baking, Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Posts, Recipes, Snacks

I mean, is there anything brown butter can’t improve? Because brownie cookies are good, but brown butter brownie cookies are better. I’ve been toying around with these brownie cookies for a while (and promising the recipe on Instagram even longer, soz) and they’re finally here. The delay is due in part to illness, but mostly due…

Citrus, haloumi, avocado, dill and radicchio salad with maple toasted pepitas
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegetarian

Have you ever heard of the term ‘recipe not recipe?’ Good, because you’re about to get a recipe not recipe for salad. I posted this salad on Instagram a few days ago and was overwhelmed by requests to post the recipe online. As such, much to your dismay, I’m sure, there is no lengthy spiel…

Gluten free FODMAP friendly chocolate cake from www.georgeats.com
Gluten free, FODMAP friendly chocolate cake
Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Posts, Recipes, Uncategorized

I was thinking of naming this ‘the chocolate cake you’d bring to a family lunch with Aunty Sheryl and your dairy intolerant cousin in one room.’ That’s a little lengthy, and perhaps a bit offensive to Aunty Sheryl. To me, this cake tastes like my memory of Coles cake (fellow ‘strayans, you know.) As far…

Gluten free crispy oven chips with coconut yoghurt and herb dipping sauce from www.georgeats.com
FODMAP Friendly oven baked chips with herb gremolata style sauce and coconut yoghurt
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Snacks, Vegan, Vegetarian

In what is seemingly a past life, I would, upon stumbling out of the pub on a Saturday night, walk past a local chip shop called Lord of the Fries. Not just any chip shop, they specialise in a variety of chip boxes. Said chip boxes all smothered generously in a variety of vegan sauces.…
