Gluten free Graham crackers from www.georgeats.com
Gluten free Graham crackers (dairy free option)
All, Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Recipes, Snacks

I am SO excited about today’s recipe for gluten free Graham crackers! While I was making my gluten free sourdough recently, I had a cracker epiphany. It struck me that toasted quinoa flour and rice flour smelt strikingly similar to a digestive biscuit. Digestive biscuits are essentially a less sweet, more ambiguous and plainer version…

Lactose free creme caramel
All, Baking, Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Recipes

Would you believe that I started working on this lactose free creme caramel recipe before I went to Argentina? Before I was even cognisant of the Argentinian love of a good flan? That I also have an upcoming recipe for lactose free dulce de leche? It’s all too much. I developed this lactose free creme…

FODMAP friendly Shepherd’s pie with tater tots (that’s incidentally vegan)
All, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

Ever since I saw Claire from Bon Appetit recreate tater tots, I have been determined to get my fix of them. The allowance of tater tots as a meal was not common in my house as a child, so naturally I remain fixated on them as an adult. In what is essentially an excuse to…

Gluten free sourdough brownies (nut free, FODMAP friendly)
All, Baking, Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Recipes

I, along with the rest of the internet, have been on a sourdough bender recently. The pandemic has left me with a lot of time at home, meaning the lengthy process of sourdough creation is a blessing as opposed to a chore. That said, sourdough making presents the question of what to do with the…

FODMAP-friendly cucumber tomato salad (vegan option)
All, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

I spoke a little about this salad on my Instagram stories recently, which is really why I’m posting the recipe today. I view this as a ‘non-recipe’ type of dish because it’s really as customisable as you need it to be. It is also my current go-to dish that I crave when my digestive condition…

It is confirmed – the limit does not exist for how many potato recipes one can produce. What does have a limit, however, is the current ability to easily access ingredients potato salad ingredients. As they say, necessity is the mother of all invention. It’s also the mother of this easy potato salad, which is…

FODMAP-friendly pasta alla vodka (gluten free, vegetarian)
All, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

2020 is shaping up to be the year of pasta and quarantinis, it would seem. It’s only polite then that I share this recipe for FODMAP-friendly pasta alla vodka in which these worlds collide (in the best sort of way). Why vodka in pasta, you may ask? Chowhound explains it better than I could. However,…

Seeded gluten-free sourdough tartines with Fromager d’Affinois
All, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Recipes, Snacks, Vegetarian

Now that we’re all baking bread, we need some fancy things to do with it. And what, my friends, is fancier than making toast and calling it a tartine? Today’s recipe, seeded gluten-free sourdough tartines, is in partnership with Fromager d’Affinois. I have used their triple cream blue cheese and their Campagnier to create the tartines/toast…

Getting through moving house with a little help fr Getting through moving house with a little help from my friends (crispy potatoes). I used the crispy kipfler method from my site (which is linked) but with sebago spuds and some awkwardly positioned rosemary (cousin of dangly basil)
One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished I’d taken the time to iron something. This is the gluten free lemon drizzle cake from my website - it uses only one flour (not a blend) no xanthan gum, and is being posted in lieu of what I attempted to shoot today which did not look half this nice, irrespective of ironing. Recipe is linked!
The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punn The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punnet more blueberries than my own recipe calls for. On the topic of these vegan, gluten free blueberry muffins, I’ve learned that you can: use regular dairy yoghurt and butter if you don’t need them to be vegan, use panela/rapadura sugar if that’s your thing, chop and change (use vegan butter but regular yoghurt and vice versa) or use oil instead of butter. My number one personal trick for making buttercrea My number one personal trick for making buttercream look good on a cake is to buy a lot of berries and move on with your life. This is a gluten free chocolate cake recipe uses only one flour, no blends, no xanthan gum, no nuts, and can easily be made dairy free. If dairy is your thing though, I highly recommend you make the chocolate brown butter buttercream to go with it. Recipe is linked!
