Homemade gluten free ravioli with brown butter and sage (FODMAP friendly, vegetarian)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

Question? Is there anything better than homemade gluten free ravioli? Answer: yes. Homemade gluten free ravioli with brown butter, sage, and a low lactose spinach ricotta filling. Heaven on a plate.  Admittedly, homemade pasta making does take time. Recipes like these are best for an afternoon at home as opposed to a weeknight. That said,…

Easy gluten-free egg pasta (FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

In my opinion, there are two major victories in the game of gluten free recipe development: bread and pasta. We’ve conquered gluten free sourdough, so today I am very excited to announce my new conquest: easy gluten-free egg pasta. I have tinkered with pasta recipes, on and off, for a couple of years now. In…

Brown butter mashed potatoes with a vegan option (FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

Obviously, we all love mash. If we don’t all love mash, we probably can’t all be friends. Either way, I’m here today with a variety that trumps all varieties – brown butter mashed potatoes. I’ve developed this recipe and guide to mash in time for the festive season. Please note that I wrote that sentence…

Roasted capsicum tartines with sherry vinegar, burrata and pesto (FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

Initially, this recipe was intended to be a roasted capsicum salad, the likes of which you have seen (multiple times) before on my Instagram. However, I foresaw that many might take umbrage with cheese and capsicum being titled salad. More than that, though, I realised that bread underneath the salad was what really made it…

Gluten free potato galette with Petit D’Affinois and a honey vinegar glaze
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Posts, Recipes, Vegetarian

Since my digestive system crumbled into a heap, it has always pained me that I cannot provide my Instagram followers/myself with the pure aesthetic vision that is an apple galette. For me personally, apple galettes are both the height of sophistication and the height of my own digestive distress. Apples and I broke up a…

Gluten free vegan sausages (FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

There are some recipes that get me more excited than others. Super excited. These gluten free vegan sausages are one of those recipes. As a University student, I lived on a reliable diet of vegetarian sausages and mixed greens. As my digestive system became progressively less reliable, however, I found that my beloved sausages started…

FODMAP friendly lemony kale, feta, roasted pumpkin and potato frittata. Super flavourful and endlessly customisable. Recipe from www.georgeats.com
FODMAP friendly frittata with lemony kale, pumpkin and feta
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

I don’t talk about it too often on my socials, but I eat a fair bit of basic food. The reality of living with an unsolved and somewhat undiagnosed digestive illness is that bland food is my friend. No disrespect to frittata, but I count it in my basic food group. There’s nothing offensively flavourful…

Vegan, gluten free and FODMAP friendly Tater Tot Shepherd's Pie from www.georgeats.com
FODMAP friendly Shepherd’s pie with tater tots (that’s incidentally vegan)
All, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegan, Vegetarian

Ever since I saw Claire from Bon Appetit recreate tater tots, I have been determined to get my fix of them. The allowance of tater tots as a meal was not common in my house as a child, so naturally I remain fixated on them as an adult. In what is essentially an excuse to…

Getting through moving house with a little help fr Getting through moving house with a little help from my friends (crispy potatoes). I used the crispy kipfler method from my site (which is linked) but with sebago spuds and some awkwardly positioned rosemary (cousin of dangly basil)
One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished I’d taken the time to iron something. This is the gluten free lemon drizzle cake from my website - it uses only one flour (not a blend) no xanthan gum, and is being posted in lieu of what I attempted to shoot today which did not look half this nice, irrespective of ironing. Recipe is linked!
The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punn The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punnet more blueberries than my own recipe calls for. On the topic of these vegan, gluten free blueberry muffins, I’ve learned that you can: use regular dairy yoghurt and butter if you don’t need them to be vegan, use panela/rapadura sugar if that’s your thing, chop and change (use vegan butter but regular yoghurt and vice versa) or use oil instead of butter. My number one personal trick for making buttercrea My number one personal trick for making buttercream look good on a cake is to buy a lot of berries and move on with your life. This is a gluten free chocolate cake recipe uses only one flour, no blends, no xanthan gum, no nuts, and can easily be made dairy free. If dairy is your thing though, I highly recommend you make the chocolate brown butter buttercream to go with it. Recipe is linked!
