Best cafes in Noosa

As you might know (since I haven’t stopped yapping about it) I recently returned from a trip to Noosa. I am a firm believer in your food itinerary being as important as your travel itinerary, so we ate extremely well on our trip. We’ve covered the best coffee in Noosa, so now it’s time to dive into the best cafes in Noosa.

Best cafes in Noosa

These are my top picks after visiting Noosa twice. Of course, I’ll take one for the team and continue to hone the list in by repeatedly returning to the glorious town that is Noosa.

If you have any hidden gem cafes that aren’t on this list, let me know! I want it to truly represent the best of Noosa, so I am always open to new additions.

Vanilla Food (Noosa Junction)

On both trips, Vanilla Food was the best espresso I had. It also happens to be absolutely delicious brunch that caters amazingly to dietary requirements (the focaccia above is gluten free). At the time of writing, Vanilla Foods is open from 7am-2.30pm Monday to Saturday and 8am-2.30pm Sunday.

Clandestino Coffee/Belmondo’s Organic Grocer (Noosaville)

Clandestino is one of my favourite coffee shops in Noosa. They do lovely brunch, but you can also buy baked goods from the local Tanglewood bakery in the same Grocer to have as your breakfast or lunch. There was a salad bar type arrangement in the grocer, too – perfect for easy lunches. The opening hours vary a little (although they are open every day) so I recommend double checking online before you visit.

All the coffee spots in my Noosa Coffee Guide

If you are after a good coffee, look no further than the venues in my Noosa coffee Guide. Some of them also do brunch so you can get your brunch and great coffee fix in at the same time. At the time of writing, the venues that do brunch are Moonstruck, Moto Bar, Mine Sunshine Beach, Clandestino and Vault. The Coffee Noosa does toasties, smoothies and snacky bits, The Junction does toasties and snacky bits and a few of the other cafes might have lighter offerings too.

Vault Espresso (Noosaville)

Vault Espresso is a well known and beloved espresso bar in Noosaville, but they also serve a New York Style sandwich/toast breakfast. There are gluten free options as well, so this makes it an easy breakfast or brunch stop for everyone. The opening hours are a bit varied (and they are closed on Sundays) so I recommend looking them up before you visit.

Depot Noosa (Noosaville)

I haven’t been to Depot, but almost every search for a breakfast or coffee in Noosa comes up with Depot as a solid breakfast spot. The menu has lots of options for gluten free diners if that’s a requirement for you. They also have an all day brunch menu, a lunch menu and a bar menu. At the time of writing, Depot Noosa is open from 5.30am-3pm every day.

Mine (Sunshine Beach)

The menu is short but the location couldn’t be better (I have a real soft spot for Sunshine Beach). There are a few gluten free options as well. At the time of writing, Mine is open from 6am-12pm, so it’s more of a breakfast spot than a brunch or lunch spot.

Best light or quick breakfast and lunch spots in Noosa

Raw and Rice (Noosa Heads)

We had Raw and Rice for lunch after days of eating and drinking and it felt like heaven. A light and refreshing lunch that you can cater to your own preferences and dietaries. I’d describe it as Asian leaning and almost a poke bar but with vegetarian options, chicken and grains like quinoa. You can build your own bowl or choose from one of the suggestions. There are two venues in Noosa Heads as well as one in Mooloolaba if you you happen to be out that way.

At the time of writing, Raw and Rice Noosa Heads is open 10am-7pm every day.

Heirloom Wholefoods (Peregian Beach)

We stumbled on this little place after leaving it a little late to get lunch. Both of us agreed that it was the best lunch we’d had in a long time. The bowls are simple but delicious and they have gluten free and vegetarian options as well. At the time of writing, Heirloom Wholefoods is open from 8am-2pm every day.

Organika, Noosaville

Part grocer, part cafe and smoothie bar, this cute little spot feels a bit like Erewhon with slightly less eye watering price tags. You can get takeaway bowls, gluten free bread, loads of cake slices and treats as well as smoothies and coffee. Some people were eating in when I went but there aren’t a huge amounts of seats, nor is it a full cafe menu. Cute little spot for breakfast or lunch on the go. At the time of writing, Organika is open from 7am-6pm weekdays and 7am-5pm weekends. I couldn’t find what time the cafe part of the store closes.

More cafe and lunch recommendations in Noosa

Other options in Noosa that were consistently busy were Flo’s Creperie (Noosa Junction) Aromas (Noosa Heads) and Blended Bar (Noosa Heads). I tried Blended Bar and it was nice – nothing life-changing but a good easy way to start the day.

There are also lots of commonly available venues like Boost Juice Bar, Grilled, Betty’s Burgers, etc. They’re not necessarily things I would recommend, but know that you have plenty of options.
