Vegetarian, FODMAP friendly Caesar salad with salt and pepper tofu croutons. Gluten free, nut free and vegan adaptable. Recipe from www.georgeats.com | @georgeats
Vegetarian Caesar salad with salt and pepper tofu ‘croutons’ (FODMAP friendly, gluten free)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

I’ve never truly understood the fuss about caesar salad. That is, until I started making it about a week ago. Ooof! That unctuous, tangy dressing? Those salty crunchy bits? Caesar salad is salad heaven! Naturally, due to my FODMAP constraints and vegetarian, I had to play around a little. So here we are with this…

Summer tomato, lemon and mascarpone pasta (lactose free, FODMAP friendly, gluten free)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

I have a well documented penchant for buying a frivolous amount of pretty tomatoes at the farmers market. Summer tomatoes, particularly in their rainbow form at my local farmers market, are my achilles heel. Last weekend, as always, I went particularly overboard on the tomato front. When I returned home, I had to ask myself:…

Green haloumi salad with toasted almonds and dairy free pesto
FODMAP friendly, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

Given my penchant for halloumi, (exhibit A – this honey roasted carrot haloumi salad) this green haloumi salad was destined to happen. The salad combines the deliciousness of halloumi with the ease of a 10 minute throw together job that happens to be packed with FODMAP friendly vegetables. Initially I had no intention of writing…

Honey balsamic roasted vegetable frittata with lactose-free cheese and pesto (FODMAP friendly)
FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Grain free, Main, Recipes, Vegetarian

When Liddell’s lactose free dairy asked me to develop some recipes, I knew a frittata needed to be involved. As far as I’m concerned, the frittata is Queen of the mid-week dinner, and I have but one frittata recipe; the green Thai frittata. With that in mind, may I introduce the honey balsamic roasted vegetable…

You may have noticed that last night I launched the bushfire relief recipe e-book. A soft launch, due in no small part to my lack of confidence in my own technological skills. So tonight, as I launch it properly, I wanted to give you a bit of sneak peek. My childhood was spent near bushland, meaning…

So, Barilla have asked me to create my ultimate gluten free vegetarian lasagne. Let me set the scene: it has a rosemary infused vegetarian bolognese. Gluten free strawberry pie (FODMAP friendly)
Baking, Baking, Dessert, FODMAP friendly, Gluten free, Recipes

You may have noticed recently that I’ve been into pies. I made a FODMAP friendly pumpkin pie, and I contributed some gluten free fruit free mince pies to The Guardian. Two pie recipes = very into pies. Hadn’t you heard? A big part of this recent emotional attachment to pie is my newfound gluten free pastry…

My favourite potato recipes I’ve written (just in time for Christmas)
FODMAP friendly, Main, Recipes, Uncategorized, Vegan, Vegetarian

Hello and welcome to this post, ‘all the potato recipes I’ve written in one convenient space.’ While writing up the potato recipes I had planned for Christmas, I became stuck on which recipe to post. That’s when it hit me – why choose? Why limit the power of the potato? So today I’m sharing a…

One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished One of the 3 times in my adult life that I wished I’d taken the time to iron something. This is the gluten free lemon drizzle cake from my website - it uses only one flour (not a blend) no xanthan gum, and is being posted in lieu of what I attempted to shoot today which did not look half this nice, irrespective of ironing. Recipe is linked!
The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punn The leaning tower of me consistently adding a punnet more blueberries than my own recipe calls for. On the topic of these vegan, gluten free blueberry muffins, I’ve learned that you can: use regular dairy yoghurt and butter if you don’t need them to be vegan, use panela/rapadura sugar if that’s your thing, chop and change (use vegan butter but regular yoghurt and vice versa) or use oil instead of butter. My number one personal trick for making buttercrea My number one personal trick for making buttercream look good on a cake is to buy a lot of berries and move on with your life. This is a gluten free chocolate cake recipe uses only one flour, no blends, no xanthan gum, no nuts, and can easily be made dairy free. If dairy is your thing though, I highly recommend you make the chocolate brown butter buttercream to go with it. Recipe is linked!
