Ingredients

  • 125-180 ml (1/2 - 3/4 cup)* milk of choice, to your tastes
  • 2-4 teaspoons sweetener of choice (I use maple syrup) to your tastes
  • 30 g (1/2 cup)* soy protein crisps or more, to your appetite

Instructions

  • Mix the milk and sweetener in a bowl and adjust to your tastes. Add the protein crisps and allow to soften for 10-20 seconds before consuming.

Notes

  • See notes in body of the post for tips, dietaries and flavour combination suggestions.
  • As per the brands I used (Wellness Road), 30g of soy protein crisps contain approximately 17.6g protein.
  • If you use a high protein milk, this adds approximately 7.5-11g protein to your bowl. This means the protein total is approximately 25-28.6g protein using soy protein crisps.
  • If your cereal is tasting bland or pasty, you haven't added enough sweetener.
  • Sweetener with a flavour (maple syrup, for example) contributes a more rounded flavour profile when compared to plain white sugar.
  • If you are using a bland sweetener, I recommend adding extra flavour (cinnamon, fruits, flavoured milk) to make it more interesting.
  • If you want to use a sugar substitute, I'd recommend a flavoured syrup (sugar free maple syrup, for example) over straight sweetener.
  • I don't recommend whey protein crisps here. I tried them and they tasted very pasty.
